Lough Derg 6 - Rearcross U-10's 1

Rearcross made the journey to Clarisford Park on Saturday morning to face Lough Derg in the final league game of the season. The wet and windy conditions did little to prevent both teams from giving it their all. A strong Lough Derg side gained an early advantage when 2 goals in quick succession were registered for the home side. Rearcross continued to battle hard and were unlucky when Aaron Lenihan's attempt went just wide mid-way through the opening half. Despite some good passages of play from the visitors, Lough Derg took advantage at every opportunity and were rewarded with a further 2 goals before the break. The second half saw a more balanced competition between the sides and while Lough Derg added again to the score-line soon after the restart, Rearcross finally found the Lough Derg net with a fine effort from Cathal Dervan.. Emily Hurley pulled off some fine saves for the visitors to deny Lough Derg further advantage and this encouraged Rearcross to push hard for the remainder of the game.  In the end however it was Lough Derg who finished the stronger of the two but some good passing play from Rearcross during periods of the game was very encouraging.

Rearcross U-10's: Emily Hurley, Jayne Hurley, Cathal Dervan, Colm Kennedy, Tristan Deegan, Brian Hammersley, Aaron Lenihan, Killian Healy, Cian McNamara.
